Wow this really caught me off guard. What an enjoyable film and the drug scene had me in tears. Really looking forward to see if they do a second one.

120. Luca il contrabbandiere (Contraband)
Pretty standard, usual Fulci gore, usual Testi arse handing, some blinding disco songs. Still enjoyable and a decent enough effort from Fulci.

119. Moonrise Kingdom
Going into the film my expectations for this were low mainly due to the fact The Darjeeling Limited was horribly miscast and The Fantastic Mr Fox was just to smarmy for it’s own good. I was also worried about the child actors, Wes Anderson has a unique, quirky aura about his films and I felt they would get lost in this.
My what a pleasant surprise this film was. This is Anderson on top, top...

My favourite zombie film of all time. Perfect in setting (Manchester ‘74) with a brilliant score by Giuliano Sorgini. The political/environmental undertones is a bit in your face (as was with many horror films in the 70’s) bar the awful accent on Lovelock the acting is surprising up to scratch and the stand out, head to head between George and The Sergeant is superb. A real solid 8/10

110. Il Grande Silenzio (The Great Silence)
This is a masterpiece. Django is Corbucci’s iconic film but this blows it out of the water. Such a well paced, wonderful looking film with a Morricone soundtrack to boot and I hope the dvd i just ordered isn’t dubbed as it takes away from the film ever so slightly. The best Western I have seen to date.
