109. The Driver
If this had a better soundtrack it could be one of the greatest cult films of all time. Enjoyed it immensely.

108. Demoni (Demons)
One of my first forays into the horror world as a plucky youngster and it still stands up today. Smeared in 80’s charm, Bava delivers a well constructed possession movie set inside a Berlin cinema. Plenty of sticky transformations, knuckleheads, gruesome attacks and what more can you ask for from a film when the hero rides a motorbike, chopping demons heads off with a samurai sword to an...

107. The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou
Delightful film. After the self indulgent nightmares that were The Darjeeling Limited and The Fantastic Mr Fox I let Wes Anderson be for a few years. The Life Aquatic is a heart warming tale of revenge, friendship, love and fish and had me beaming for hours after it finished. Andersons best film to date with his best soundtrack too.

106. Revolver
I was looking forward to watching this film for sometime, the unmistakable theme by Morricone set up a wonderful opening sequence but that soon turned out to be the best part of the film. Very, very soft on the action set pieces but Reed and Testi do have a good chemistry going on. A film drenched in moral dilemmas, a good man having to do bad things to save his love and ends with the typical...

105. Jaws
It was a joy to see this film on the big screen. It’s a real shame that projectionists are near extinct but I am sure even the most die hard would be taken away with how good this print looks.  Jaws is most definitely in my perfect films list.

104. The Delta Force
Not even close to being as good as I remembered. Screams AMERICA FUCK YEAH, FUCK YOU behind thin Israeli propaganda and also has Robert Forster in some dusty brown make up. Also whats with the concentration camp overtones at the start of the film and the overuse and sometimes vicious delivery of the word JEW.  Motorbikes with rockets kind of saved the day, was a treat to see the Cannon logo in...

103. Il Cacciatore Di Squali (The Shark Hunter)
This was a fucking treat. Nero plays a mysterious ‘gringo’ by the name of Mike! Fucking Mike! Mike the exotic shark hunter who knows of a plane wreckage at the bottom of the ocean holding $100 million in cash, locked up in a safe. This is Castellari all over and with the De Angelis brothers providing a strangely hypnotic disco soundtrack proves why Italian films can be so infectious.

102. Harold & Maude
An absolute joy to watch, a film I could watch every week. A film that proves love can come in any shape, size or form.

101. 30 Minutes Or Less
Danny McBride needs to fuck off. Eastbound and Down was his vehicle to act the dick and get away with it as the show was really good, now that has finished his potty mouth shtick has finally run dry. Average film with one laugh at the start.

100. Blow Out
One of my all time favourite films and Brian De Palma’s best. Nancy Allen takes sometime to get used to but her naive charm shines through. John Travolta has never been better, a soundman who witnesses a car crash with a misty fallout of conspiracies and lies. De Palma is often cited as plagiarising classic Directors trademarks but who cares when he does it so well? The sick twist gets me...

This is the film Prometheus wanted to be. It’s not perfect by any stretch but you know where you are with it at all times.

To all animal lovers →
(Click on title for link) This link highlights the true despicable nature of man, the deluded power of someone who “owns” an animals life. Staffordshire Bull Terriers are wonderful, loving dogs but due to their build, courage and intelligence have become the dog of choice for brand cladded shitheads. I live in an area where gangs of kids feel it necessary to own one to add to their...

96. Nazis at the Center of the Earth
Yeah I watched this. Robot Hitler, Jake Busey, lasers, Nazi UFO’s should be awesome right? What a fucking terrible mess.  Remember Dominique Swain? Yeah well her career took a 100ft nose dive into burning asphalt.

90. Milano Trema - La Polizia Vuole Giustizia (The...
A really, really good Martino poliziotteschi. Took some tracking down but I managed to find an old Vipco (FTW) DVD. Giorgio (Luc Merenda) goes under cover after shooting dead two prisoners who brutally escaped from a train to subsequently return to see his police chief killed and is hell bent on revenge.  The opening train sequence is never really bettered but it has some of the best car chases...

89. Danger! Diabolik
I adore this film, it just doesn’t give a fuck. Our anti hero, Diabolik makes a living off stealing from the government to fund his pseudo James Bond lifestyle. Bava was pretty faithful to the comics by all accounts but toned down the violence for the big screen. It has a very camp feel to the film, especially with Law’s inquisitive perma raised eyebrow and Morricone’s swinging...
