88. C'era una volta il West (Once Upon A Time In...
I love the griminess of spaghetti westerns but this is a completely different beast. Leone uses the camera to make you feel at home in the desert, he portrays it as a warm, gentle setting letting the characters set the scene. This is undoubtedly a masterpiece and even with the length of the film I never once felt bored. All actors are on their A game.
It’s fascinating to know that Leone had...

87. Roma A Mano Armarta (Rome Armed To The Teeth)
My final Tazi film directed by Umberto Lenzi. Fun, reasonably paced but with a very shoddy plot. Tanzi always finds himself right in the middle of the action (how convenient!) Milian destroys the screen yet again as the psychopathic hunchback hell bent on taking Tanzi out. The score from Micalizzi is spot on once again.
Not forgettable by any stretch but it’s not has hight up on my list of...

86. Capricorn One
Great conspiracy thriller about a staged Mars landing. The ending could have been bleak but I suppose it wasn’t that kind of film.

83. Squadra Volante (Emergency Squad)
A well paced revenge poliziotteschi. Milian steals the show yet again as the grief stricken Ravelli seeking justice for the brutal shooting of his wife. Milian is always the focal point of any film he is in, he is one of the great genre character actors and always delivers. I believe the ‘Mark’ trilogy isn’t as highly regarded but is next on my list of Massi films.

82. Nico
I must have seen this film about 100 times. It’s always on Sky and I always watch it but there is one thing that always bothers me, Nico is such a fucking dick. Why didn’t anyone take him to one side, slap him and tell him to STOP BEING A DICK. He also forgot the golden rule, DO NOT FUCK WITH HENRY SILVA. They got this film all mixed up. Nico you’re a twat.

80. Piranha 3DD
Seriously what the fuck is this piece of shit? Awful, awful film. Bad CGI, mind blowingly bad acting, rubbish boobs, shit gore, terrible 3D, awful payoff. David Hasselhoff was the best bit about the film and that should tell you all you need to know.
There will definitely be a third which is a crime against cinema. This makes Piranha 3D (which is actually pretty good) look like Citizen Kane.

79. Going To Pieces : The Rise & Fall of The...
This is a pretty good documentary for those who are into the slasher genre, it stays on course for it’s 90 minute running time and the interviews are with the directors, actors you would expect (Felissa Rose is a pain in the arse though)
It gives the right amount of screen time to the right films although it really could have expanded on the Italian influence on the genre. It does brush...

I am in no way a fan of comic books or superhero’s but this was really good. All actors were likeable, the film was funny in the right places and the action sequences delivered. Top fun

73. Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me
It’s pretty easy to see why this bombed hard on it’s release in 92’. Lynch scrapped the cherry pie, awww shucks, day time drama nostalgia of the Twin Peaks series and made a film that explores the dark underbelly of Twin Peaks.
The film revolves around the last days of Laura Palmer and how she became wrapped in plastic. The first act of the film explores the Teresa Banks murder...
