37. Punisher: War Zone
Really remarkable stuff. About as over the top and daft as a film could be, loved it. Some blatant Batman (89) and Silence of The Lambs rip off scenes but it never lets up in the entertainment stakes.

Tour day #2
Plenty of musical anecdotes. Today has been about Mötley Crüe, Van Halen, Kiss, Iron Maiden and drug addled rock stars converting to god. There will never be another Dio

34. Running Scared
Piece of shit, terribly filmed, awful acting, offensive dialogue. There is a good film in here buried under the layers of absolute horse shit.

33. The Burning
Managed to track down a HDTV rip of this which is so much better than the DVD I own. Still holds up for me and I do prefer this to Friday 13th (of course that has some awesome sequels) Love it, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better scene in a slasher film than the raft sequence.

32. Point Blank
A Lee Marvin power house performance. Sparse dialogue, determined walking and a nack for taking out everyone. The film walks a tight line between art house and thriller well.

31. Faster
There is something about Dwayne Johnson I can’t quite put my finger on, made the leap from professional wraaaaslin quite well, earned his keep slowly but has never settled on a genre of film if you will. He sticks to a cycle of action, family, comedy and picks well. But its the action film he excels at the most.  In Faster he portrays a revenge stricken ex con brilliantly, his dialogue is...

30. The Untouchables
De Palma goes Hollywood blockbuster. I really enjoyed the film as a whole but De Niro most certainly phoned in his performance and Costner is just shit and I have no idea how he made it through the 90’s. Billy Drago is as nasty as always but it’s De Palma and his touches make the film.

27. The Italian Connection
My Fernando Di Leo crime box arrived on blu ray last week and this is my first venture into his films. As far as poliziotteschi goes this was on the more serious side, dialogue heavy (you can see why Tarantino loves Di Leo) with some absolutely great action sequences. I am looking forward to what his other films have to offer but he has certainly made a great impression. Henry Silva in a bright...
